docking in Cayo Hueso

As dawn's first light quickly spills into full morning, Captain Jack orders his men to tac and avoid the reef around Cayo Hueso. Almost everyone has elected to leave the Black Pearl when they dock. Wrecking is a lucritive business here in the American Keys and Jack wonders how many locals he can pursuade to leave behind a booming industry to join him. As for his tasks while docked, someone will need to make a list of inventory, then buy when they reach the island. Someone will need to recruit new hands. Someone will need to watch the boat so it isn't stolen...that's three people. Jack sweeps his dirty eyes over the deck and contemplates this since he only has one volunteer to go on with him when they leave the gulf. Captain Jack will somehow need to do the jobs of three pirates while ashore with his one and only permanent crewman ...Bootsrap Beli.

They sucessfully navigate the reef and approach the south beach windward, steering towards an empty slip. Captain Jack has plenty of time to study the ships that will flank the Black Pearl once she is tied up...and he doesn't like what he sees.
